Duo 58 Cafe

If you lived near the Northeast side of town (Oviedo, East Orlando, Winter Springs) and you love coffee, chances are that you visited Duo 58 at some point. Back in March they announced they were closing the Oviedo location to open a new space a little further South in Avalon Park, which is now in the soft opening phase.

The new cafe space is shared with an event space named The Table. When you enter the plaza off Alafaya, you’ll see the large signs on the left hand for The Table, and that is where Duo 58 is located.

Bright and big, the new space is inviting with lots of the standard goodies Duo 58 was known for. The new spacious digs are partly thanks to the partnership with The Table. During regular business hours the long tables are mostly reserved for parties of eight who may come to study or socialize with each other. The event space is available for weddings, showers, meetings, and more. There is a contact form on their website for inquiries and Duo 58 will, as they always have in the past, put their catering skills to good use.

The seating placement for cafe versus event area are still being tweaked, but rest assured, this is a coffee shop where you will find a place to sit.

The food remains true to what you could expect from days of Duo’s past. Breakfast bites and made-from-scratch breads and pastries from their in-house baker. Coffees and teas are on the menu with new items being worked on and added, and my old favorite the Lorax (an orange and lavender cortado) is still available.

The new location can be found at 2842 S. Alafaya Trail. Soft opening hours are M-F 7am - 4pm / Sat 8am - 3pm / Sun closed. Is it worth the drive? I say yes.

Follow them on Instagram @duo58cafe for updates of permanent hours.
