12 places to find Cinnamon Rolls around Orlando
Many bakery items have rotated in their status as the treat of the moment: cupcakes, donuts, big ooey-gooey tear-apart cookies, and now Dubai chocolate anything. However, if you've been paying attention to bakeries in other larger cities, you will see a new "rising" star: the cinnamon roll.
Bakeries like Sunday Morning in NYC focus solely on these thick, decadent buns, which are loaded with different flavors and toppings. Could this be the beginning of the latest trend we see take off? It's too soon to tell.
While Orlando doesn't have a bakery dedicated solely to the Cinnamon Roll, we do have several bakeries offering it. Not all are created equal, though.
Sadly, two of my favorite spots for Cinnamon Rolls in Orlando are no longer here. When I got the craving, I knew I could always depend on P is for Pie or a custom order of goods from Nomad Bakehouse. With them gone, I hadn't thought much about my Cinnamon Roll loss until the newest bakery in Orlando opened and made me long for them regularly. That piqued my interest to see what else was out there. It took a few weeks of Cinnamon Roll research, but I found my favorite, some passable ones, and a few disappointments. Some didn't make the list because I threw the roll away after the first bite. Below are the findings from that significant and important research.
Yeast Coast Bakehouse
So far, based on weeks of tasting and testing, no one has come close to the cinnamon rolls at Yeast Coast Bakehouse in College Park. While most bakeries have a heavy roster of treats, Yeast Coast keeps it small-batch and focuses on doing a limited number of things well. I appreciate that approach because I should never go to a bakery and get the “wrong” item and end up throwing it away.
Cinnamon Rolls are a staple here because they are literally how Yeast Coast came into existence. A non-baker having fun at home and trying his hand at scratch pastries with only the ingredients he felt were safe for his family (no preservatives, dyes, artificial ingredients, or seed oils) turned that at-home hobby into a small business. The rolls are made fresh and hot and brought out immediately around 8 AM, when they open on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. The rolls are iced generously, and at the size and cost compared to other bakeries in town, you’re getting a deal.
If you have a Cinnamon Roll craving, this would be my go-to.

Divilma
I found Divilma at the Audubon Park Farmers Market on a Monday night. The standard cinnamon rolls tasted similar to the popular Cinnabon chain but without making you instantly regret eating them a few minutes after devouring them. They travel well and easy to warm up at home. They are thick and fluffy and truly enjoyable to eat. If they had a shop they would be in my heavy rotation.
For now, they are regulars at the markets around town (Sunday Downtown Lake Eola, Lake Nona, etc.). Unlike any other cinnamon bun purveyors in the city, Divilma’s cinnamon buns come in different flavors far beyond the standard, including Biscoff, Oreo, and Nutella, to name a few. The best way to track them down is by following their Instagram account.
J’Adore the French Bakery
This French bakery is such a sleeper; I can’t believe more people aren’t posting about it. If you are a foodie who loves to indulge in good pastries, you shouldn’t put off your trip to Altamonte any longer. I’ve been going through their menu, but I patiently waited for the weekend to come to grab a Cinnamon Roll. I arrived on a Friday morning close to 10:30 and saw only two left, and the woman in front of me was eyeing them. Thankfully, she only ordered one, which left the next one for me to take.
Like everything J’Adore does, it’s subtle and impeccable. This cinnamon roll is for those who want the sweetness not to overwhelm and weigh them down. The roll is light and airy, and the thin layer of icing is just enough. Also important to note, they use flour imported from France, which helps you not feel terrible after indulging.

Valhalla Bakery
Vegans who don’t want to be left out of the Cinnamon Roll conversation without being told to make their own at home should head over to Valhalla Bakery. Their large cinnamon roll is massive; you get a lot of dough here. The icing isn’t ooey-gooey running all over the roll and your fingers, but the flavor is there. Honestly, the roll had more moisture than some non-vegan rolls I tried. The price of these is $6.25.

KOS Coffee
I was pleasantly surprised to find a solid cinnamon roll at KOS Coffee in Maitland. I've struggled with their coffee and finding something I like, so I was unsure what to expect from an in-house pastry. This Lemon Blueberry roll was delicious. It had a nice tart flavor that was a nice break from all the cream cheese frosting I tasted on most of the rolls I tried. It's seasonal and not a regular item, but it's worth visiting KOS and watching what other seasonal pastries they come out with.

DG Doughnuts
I’ve lost count of how long I’ve been eating DG Doughnuts. I was a fan back when Amanda and Dave were only doing deliveries. In all that time, I never tried their Cinnamon Rolls. They are thick and covered in a nice icing that isn’t overly sweet (I could do with more cinnamon inside the roll, though). The problem is that Amanda’s doughnuts are so good (as are her blueberry muffins) that they probably overshadow her rolls. They are a daily staple item however, so they are easy to track down.

TK Donuts
A relatively new donut shop in Longwood seems to have appeared out of nowhere. A family from Tennessee moved here, and they own a few locations of TK Donuts there and have expanded with a new location in their new home in Florida. The space is cute and colorful, and the shop offers coffee and boba. So far, all the items I’ve tried have been pretty good, especially the Guava and Cheese “Doughssant”. Their cinnamon roll is reminiscent of those sticky buns we used to eat as kids.

Aunt Gingibread’s Bakery
If you’ve never heard of it, Aunt Gingibread is a tiny bakery in downtown Apopka. She is best known for her custom cakes, but when you walk in, you’ll see a case full of treats, and I’ve had several of them over the years, and they are good (her lemon bars are one of my favs). In my cinnamon roll research, I went back to grab some; there are usually a few on the counter without an icing on them. You are given it on the side to apply at home. Warmed up and with icing applied, they are good (although I wouldn’t say light and fluffy) but if you want them ready to eat on the spot, you may have to ask if there is an option for warming at the bakery.

Buttermilk Bakery
To be technical, these aren’t cinnamon rolls. They are cinnamon roll bread pudding croissants. The frosting leans heavier on the cream cheese flavor than just sickeningly sweet frosting, and there is ample cinnamon in them, more so than some of the other rolls. It’s also one of the cheaper options at $5.50.

Se7enbites Bakery
Se7enbites has cinnamon rolls but only on Sunday mornings. I trekked over there, imagining I would see substantial fluffy rolls on the pastry counter waiting to be devoured. I was surprised to see these small, almost flat rolls instead. They are intensely sweet, coming from someone with a huge sweet tooth. While they are surely someone’s favorite, they were a little too sweet for me.

The Monroe
I love the brunch at the Monroe, so the next time you go consider getting a cinnamon roll for the table. They have a Quesito Cinnamon Roll with vanilla cream cheese, petal honey, and candied almonds. It is very decadent, so you really need to share it or plan on boxing it up to take home. Brunch is only available on Saturdays and Sundays from 11-3.

Cinnamom Bakery
So this spot is a bit of a mystery. I only found them after searching “Cinnamon Roll” in a food delivery app out of curiosity to see what popped up. That’s how I found Cinnamom Roll, a spot inside the Dollins Food Kitchen. I thought wow, a mom and pop bakery in a local ghost kitchen, score! However, upon receipt, their labels said they were from Michigan. So why are they being sold in an Orlando ghost kitchen? I have no idea, however, the rolls were good after waking them up, with several flavors to choose from. I suppose if you are desperate and willing to pay delivery fees, this is another cinnamon roll option.

Not my recommend but other cinnamon roll options you can explore:
Smokemade Meats (Sunday brunch)
The Glass Knife
All food is paid for personally and I don’t include business’s because they ask or even know about these lists. If there’s a popular item not listed I have my reasons.
